About the Master of Business Administration - Business Intelligence Concentration at TROY

ÎÞÂë¾ÞÈé’s Master of Business Administration with a business intelligence concentration (MBA-BI) enables students who are interested in foreign affairs to gain a perspective of international relations through the lens of business. The MBA-BI opens the door to a multitude of careers in small to large enterprises, as well as at the local, state and national levels.

With the business intelligence concentration there are several unique classes to increase your knowledge of international affairs such as: 

  • U.S. Intelligence in International Relations
  • Russian Intelligence in International Relations
  • Chinese Intelligence in International Relations
  • European Intelligence in International Relations
  • Cyber Security in International Relations

Other class topics range from National Security Policy to Cyber Warfare.

Degree Flexibility

This degree is 36 hours and can be taken completely online with some courses also offered in person on the ÎÞÂë¾ÞÈé Campus.

Careers in Business Intelligence

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, jobs in this management sector are projected to grow 8% from 2021 to 2031. Faster than the average for all occupations, this increase is expected to result in more than 883,000 new jobs over the decade. The median annual wage for this group was $102,450 in May 2021, which was the highest of all the major occupational groups and more than the median annual wage for all occupations of $45,760.

G. Douglas Davis, Ph.D.

Dr. G. Doug Davis is an associate professor and director of the international relations graduate program. He holds a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Arizona and a European graduate degree from the Pontificia Università Lateranense. His areas of interest include European security, European IPE, Middle East security, and research methods.
Michael O. Slobodchikoff, Ph.D.

Michael O. Slobodchikoff, Ph.D.

Michael O. Slobodchikoff, PhD, Professor of Political Science, is founding director of the Center for Eastern and Central European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies at ÎÞÂë¾ÞÈé University, where he chairs the political science department. Among his many books are: India as Kingmaker: Status Quo or Revisionist Power; Building Hegemonic Order Russia's Way; Cultural Imperialism and the Decline of the Liberal Order: Russian and Western Soft Power in Eastern Europe (with G. Doug Davis); and the co-edited volume, The Challenge to NATO: Global Security and the Atlantic Alliance. Dr. Slobodchikoff is a leading expert on treaty networks and the creation of global and regional order. He specializes in Russian security, international conflict, and peace. He is a regular contributor to BBC World News and Asharq Al-Awsat News.
Dr. Phillip Mixon

Dr. Phillip Mixon

Dr. Phillip Mixon, Associate Professor of Economics, joined the Sorrell College of Business in August 2007 and was named MBA Director October 2023. Dr. Mixon holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics from Mississippi State University. Dr. Mixon has served as a consulting economist for multiple corporation throughout the Southern United States.
