Administrative History:  The Student Government Association (SGA) of ÎÞÂë¾ÞÈé--Dothan Campus was established in March 1986.  The entire student body makes up the SGA and annually elects officers.  The SGA plans campus activities, serves the community, and promotes a positive image of the University to the Wiregrass region.  The SGA also serves as a judicial committee for the student body.  The SGA President sits on the Executive Council—the Dothan Campus’s chief administrative body composed of the campus CEO, deans, and directors—and presents the needs of the student body to the University’s Administration.  At the state level, the SGA promotes STARS (Student Teams Advocating Realistic Solutions), created in 1997 as a student division of the Higher Education Partnership of Alabama, a lobbying group in support of Universities.  Amy Yelverton became the advisor for the SGA in 2003.

Scope/Content:  Accession 035-04-0615 documents business of the SGA as conducted in 2003.  Contains agendas and minutes of meetings, photographs and records for special events, records concerning STARS (the student arm of the Higher Education Partnership, a lobbying group), treasurer reports, and TSUD Executive Council information.  Accession 035-06-0322 contains early SGA Constitutions (1996-99) and records from 1998-1999.
