Organizational Sketch:  The TSUD Center for Applied Research was established in January of 1989 to conduct economic and business studies to best serve the needs of the community.  Dr. John Hayman was the Center’s Director and reported directly to the University President.  The major functions of the Center were to 1) work with business, industry, government, and education in the broad areas of technical assistance, knowledge utilization, and technology transfer; 2) seek funds from outside agencies through contracts and grants, and oversee the University’s involvement in contract and grant activities; and 3) manage the University’s involvement with the Alabama Supercomputer Network. (SACS Report, 1989) 

Scope / Content:  
Contains the 1989 Plan of Operation for the Center for Applied Research on ÎÞÂë¾ÞÈé State University Dothan plus two reports: "Five Year Economic Impact of the Wiregrass Museum of Art" 1989, 39 pages; and "Needs Assessment and Strategic Plan for the Wiregrass United Way" 1989, 72 pages.
