Historical Note:  Donor and author Larry Herbst is a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church of Enterprise, AL.  He wrote this history of the church as part of its 50th anniversary celebration.

Christ the King Lutheran Church began as a mission church in Enterprise, AL, in 1957, when local Lutherans prevailed upon Dothan minister W. Grummalt to conduct services at the American Legion Hall on East Lee St.  The church was named in April 1958, and members constructed the first church building in 1961.  The church has remained viable since its beginnings.

Scope/Content:  Nineteen-page, loose-leaf pamphlet entitled  "Christ the King Lutheran Church, Enterprise, Alabama:  A History of the Church from 1957 to 2003," written by Larry Herbst.
