2023

  • NPSchools.com has ranked TROY’s Master of Science in Nursing Nurse Practitioner program 4th nationally among its Most Affordable Online MSN-NP Programs rankings. TROY also ranked seventh nationally in the Affordable Online DNP-NP Programs rankings. 
  • U.S. News & World Report recognized ÎŢÂëľŢČé among the best regional universities in the South, by U.S. News and World Report’s 2024 Best Colleges rankings. TROY ranked 55th among all regional universities in the South and 23rd among public regional universities in the South. The University also ranked 40th among Best Value School – Regional Universities South. The University’s commitment to serving military-affiliated students earned it the 20th spot in U.S. News’ Best Colleges for Veterans rankings, which recognizes colleges and universities that make pursuing a college education more affordable for veterans and active-duty service members. TROY’s undergraduate business, economics, nursing and psychology programs were also recognized by U.S. News.
  • Money has recognized TROY among its 2023 Best Colleges.
  • Abound, a college guidance system for degree-seeking adults, has recognized TROY among its Top 100 Online Colleges nationally. Abound also recognized TROY among its Best Colleges for Military and Veterans 2023 and Best Colleges for Adults 2023 listings.
  • The Princeton Review recognized TROY as one of the best colleges and universities in the southern United States for the 19th consecutive year. TROY was one of only 109 colleges and universities to receive the designation in the 10-state southern region.
  • G.I. Jobs Magazine designated TROY among its 2023-2024 Military Friendly Schools. TROY received the organization’s highest gold ranking.
  • The National Council on Teacher Quality (NCTQ) recognized TROY’s undergraduate program in Elementary Education for its rigorous preparation of future teachers in how to teach reading. The Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (K-6) program earned an “A” in NCTQ’s report, making it one of only 112 programs nationwide to earn the grade. 
  • ÎŢÂëľŢČé Chancellor Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr. was among the six honorees recognized during the inaugural John R. Lewis Legacy Institute (JRL) gala held in February at Atlanta’s Porsche Experience Center. The honorees were recognized for embodying the highest values of the late Congressman John R. Lewis and continuing to represent his legacy of leadership.
  • U.S. News & World Report ranked TROY’s Online Bachelor’s in Psychology program 12th in the country as a part of its “2023 Best Online Degree Programs” rankings. Criminal Justice ranked 16th in the “Best Online Master’s in Criminal Justice for Veterans” ranking. The University was also recognized among the nation’s best in “Best Online Bachelor’s Degrees,” “Best Online Bachelor’s Degree Programs for Veterans,” “Best Online Bachelor’s Programs in Business,” “Best Online MBA,” “Best Online MBA for Veterans,” “Best Online Master’s in Business Programs, Non-MBA,” “Best Online Criminal Justice Master’s Programs,” “Best Online Master’s in Education Programs,” and “Best Online Master’s in Nursing Programs.”
  • HealthCareDegree.com ranked ÎŢÂëľŢČé’s Online Master’s of Nursing program 13th nationally in its “2023 Most Affordable Online Family Nurse Practitioner Programs” ranking.
  • OnlineMastersDegrees.org ranked TROY second nationally in its “Best Online Master’s Degrees in Social Sciences” ranking. TROY ranked sixth nationally in “Best Online Master’s Degrees in International Business,” 12th nationally in “Best Online Master’s Programs in Environmental Science,” 15th nationally in “Best Online Master’s Degrees in Adult Education,” and 23rd nationally in “Most Affordable Online Master’s of Social Work Programs.”

2022

  • NPSSchools.com has ranked TROY 5th nationally in its “Most Affordable Online Nurse Practitioner Programs” ranking.
  • Nine degree programs at ÎŢÂëľŢČé have been recognized as being among the nation’s best by . TROY's Master of Science in Sport Management program was ranked 4th nationally. The Master of Science in Nursing program was ranked 10th. Other rankings include: Online Social Work degree (17th), Online master's in history (18th), Online Nurse Practitioner Master's program (30th), Best Online Master's in Nursing programs (38th) and Most Affordable Online Bachelor's in Psychology program (38th).
  • Military Times ranked TROY as the only four-year, public university in Alabama in its 2022 Best for Vets rankings. TROY ranked 13th in the southeast and 41st nationally among public colleges and universities.
  • U.S. News & World Report recognized TROY among the best regional universities in the South in its 2022-2023 Best Colleges Rankings. TROY ranked 44th among all regional universities in the south and 17th among public regional universities in the south. TROY was also recognized for its commitment to the military, ranking 21st in U.S. News’ Best Colleges for Veterans rankings.
  • ÎŢÂëľŢČé’s ACCESS Virtual Learning program (Alabama Connecting Classrooms, Educators and Students Statewide), an outreach program of the College of Education, has received accreditation through 2027. The program met the criteria for educational quality established by Cognia Global Commission and was accredited by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement, the Northwest Accreditation Commission and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement.
  • The Princeton Review has named ÎŢÂëľŢČé among the best colleges and universities in the southeastern U.S. for the 18th straight year.
  • Fortune has ranked ÎŢÂëľŢČé’s online Master of Science in Nursing program as the 36th best in the country in its 2022 Best Online Master’s in Nursing Programs rankings.
  • The Partners for College Affordability and Public Trust recognized ÎŢÂëľŢČé as a national model for providing quality, affordable education. The study examined the leadership of Chancellor Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr. and the Board of Trustees and the decisions that have made TROY an adaptive and affordable institution focused on meeting the needs of students and the community.
  • Fortune has included TROY’s online MBA program among its “Best Online MBA Programs in 2022” ranking. The listing included 108 colleges and universities with TROY’s program coming in at 88th.
  • Online MBA Coach has ranked TROY among its top 100 “Most Affordable Online MBA Programs.”
  • Master’s Programs Guide ranked TROY’s MBA in Global Business 6th among its “Best Affordable Master’s in International Business Degree Programs” ranking.
  • Online Master’s Degrees has ranked TROY’s Master of Public Administration program 13th in its “Best Online MPA Programs for 2022.”
  • Stacker has named TROY’s Rosa Parks Museum among its top museums in Alabama. The museum was ranked as the 6th best in the state.
  • Abound has ranked TROY among its “Top 100 Online Colleges 2022,” making it one of only two universities in the state to achieve the recognition. Abound also included TROY among its “Best Colleges for Military and Veterans 2022” listing and its “Best Colleges for Adults 2022” listing.
  • U.S. News & World Report ranked several of TROY’s online degree programs among the “2022 Best Online Programs” rankings. TROY’s bachelor’s degree in Psychology was ranked 21st nationally, the online master’s program in Criminal Justice ranked 31st overall and 16th in “Best Online Master’s in Criminal Justice for Veterans.” The master’s program in non-MBA Business programs ranked 34th best of such programs for veterans. TROY service to veterans was also recognized in the categories of “Online Bachelor’s Degree Programs for Veterans,” and “Online Master of Business Administration Programs for Veterans.” TROY was also recognized among the nation’s best in the “Online Bachelor’s Degree Programs,” “Online Bachelor’s in Business,” “Online Master of Business Administration Programs,” “Online Master’s in Business Non-MBA,” “Online Master’s in Education,” and “Online Master’s in Nursing” categories.

  • Master’s Program Guide has ranked TROY’s International Relations degree program 3rd in its “50 Best Online Master of International Relations Degree Programs” ranking.
  • U.S. News & World Report ranked TROY as the 18th best public school in the South among regional universities and ranked TROY has one of its “Best Regional Universities in the South” and “Best Value Schools.” The publication also ranked TROY 18th in its “Best Colleges for Veterans” rankings.
  • The Princeton Review recognized TROY on its “Best of the Southeast” list for the 17th year in a row.  
  • ÎŢÂëľŢČé was the only four-year, public university in the state of Alabama to be named to the 2021 Military Times Best for Vets rankings. TROY ranked 15th in the southeast and 57th in the nation among 4-year, public colleges and universities.
  • Study.com has ranked ÎŢÂëľŢČé 4th in its list of “Best Bachelor’s Degrees in Public Administration, 26th in its list of “Best Bachelor’s Degrees in Social Science,” 10th in “Best Online Bachelor’s in Social Science Programs,” and 17th in “Best Online Bachelor’s in Sociology Programs.”
  • Computer Science Degree Search has ranked TROY as the 2nd “Most Popular Online Computer Information Systems School in Alabama.” The organization also ranked TROY as the 24th Computer Information Systems Bachelor’s Degree School in the nation and the 47th overall most Popular Online Computer Information Systems School at all degree levels.
  • Intelligent.com named TROY the following lists for 2021: Best Colleges in Alabama, Best Sport Management Degree Programs, Best Master’s in Sport Management Programs, Best Master’s Degree Programs and Best Master’s in Communications Degree Programs.
  • ÎŢÂëľŢČé was ranked in the following lists in the 2021 PLEXUSS Global Rankings: 2nd in Best in Alabama Offering Fine Arts Programs; 3rd in Alabama Offering Anthropology Programs; and, 3rd in Best Online College or University in Alabama Offering Bachelor’s Degree Programs.
  • Study.com ranked ÎŢÂëľŢČé 9th in its Best Online Bachelor’s Degree Programs in Accounting list.
  • GradReports ranked TROY 3rd best in Alabama for post-graduate salary. GradReports collected graduate data to compare alumni salaries from TROY to alumni salaries from the same programs across all colleges to develop a Best Colleges by Salary Score within the state.  
  • Study.com has ranked ÎŢÂëľŢČé 8th in its list of “Best Online Bachelor’s Degrees in Political Science.”
  • Accounting Today as ranked TROY’s School of Accountancy in the Sorrell College of Business 16th nationally for medium-sized programs.
  • Best Value Schools has named TROY’s Ph.D. in Sport Management as one of the top 10 programs of its kind in the country.
  • U.S. News & World Report has recognized several of TROY’s online degree programs as being among the best in the nation. Overall, TROY ranked 75th in the publication’s “Best Online Bachelor’s Programs” and 50th in the “Best Online Bachelor’s Programs for Veterans.” The master’s program in criminal justice ranked 15th in the “Best for Veterans” category and 26th overall. TROY was also ranked in the “Best Online Master’s in Business Programs for Veterans (Excluding MBA);” “Best Online Master’s in Business;” “Best Online Bachelor’s Business Programs;” “Best Online Master of Business Administration Programs;” “Best Online Master’s Programs in Nursing;” and “Best Online Master’s in Education Programs.”
