TROY’s comprehensive general science program offers opportunities to study your topics of interests and then apply your new-found knowledge through hands-on lab work and experiments. Not only will you learn the basics in each of your science classes, but you will also graduate with the understanding needed to research, write reports and collect and analyze data as well as the tools necessary for time management, organization, problem-solving and communication.

Comprehensive General Science Major Curriculum

The courses in the comprehensive general science degree from ÎÞÂë¾ÞÈé provide a wide range of beginner, intermediate and advanced science classes, while giving you an opportunity to find your areas of passion or interest. Your journey in these comprehensive science classes will immerse you in biology and chemistry, physics and calculus. You will also dive in to courses that will build your knowledge within the areas of microcomputer literacy, word processing and database and spreadsheet creation. In this program, you can explore the worlds of basic astronomy and geology, ecology, genetics and human anatomy.

Dr. Govind Menon

My current research involves a mathematical study of force-free electrodynamics, and the active magnetospheres of black holes. I seek solutions describing the primary mechanism behind jet formation in supermassive black holes and active galactic nuclei. I am also interested in the cosmology of the early universe and energy conservation in time-dependent spacetimes.

Dr. Raj Vinnakota's research could set the stage for new technological advancements

TROY awarded $161K National Science Foundation grant

ÎÞÂë¾ÞÈé professors continually make advancements in their respective fields, most recently with Dr. Raj Vinnakota’s acceptance of a $161,597 grant from the National Science Foundation to further research building a device that would allow for faster data recording and processing at the photon level. Faster speeds would allow for improvements in optical computing and optical information processing across multiple applications.
