Whether you support land ownership and modern economies as a surveyor, or support environmental protection using remotely-sensed imagery, or support modern infrastructure as a GIS expert, everything comes back to spatial information, a guarantee of quality and a professional attitude.
But are careers in geospatial disciplines worth getting into?
​The latest Bureau of Labor Statistics' data indicate the median annual pay for people in the geospatial disciplines is between $65,000 and $70,000.
​Industry surveys indicate a very high level of job satisfaction among people in the geospatial disciplines.
​Qualifications are able to be used throughout the US and all over the world. Demand is high for graduates. ÎÞÂë¾ÞÈé's Surveying and Geomatics Sciences program has 100% graduate employment, and has employers visiting campus regularly to recruit our students. Our graduates' starting salaries average about $55,000 pa.
ÎÞÂë¾ÞÈé's Geographic Information Sciences (GIS) major can be paired with a number of minors including an Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) minor to prepare graduates for employment in a variety of fields including business marketing, emergency management and sociology.
​ÎÞÂë¾ÞÈé, in conjunction with local industry and professional groups, offers several scholarships to students. In addition, students are in demand for summer internships and part-time work during the academic year.
