Mission Statement

The Department of Anthropology, Sociology, and Criminology at ÎÞÂë¾ÞÈé is dedicated to the pursuit of academic excellence, the notion of freedom of inquiry and the goal of providing an outstanding education to the students of ÎÞÂë¾ÞÈé. The faculty within the department accomplishes these tasks by way of their scholarship, their teaching and their service to others.

The Department of Anthropology, Sociology, and Criminology is committed to providing students with a diverse array of learning experiences that are rooted within engaged learning practices. Members of the Department are a community of scholars with distinct but complimentary backgrounds in the academic disciplines of anthropology, sociology and criminology. The faculty uses their knowledge to equip students for the challenges and responsibilities they will face in an increasingly globalized world. Thus the penultimate mission of the Department of Anthropology, Sociology, and Criminology is to prepare students for success in their careers and their personal lives as they move from the collegiate environment into the larger world.
