Meet the Staff

Lance Noe

Lance Noe earned a Master’s in Education – TESOL from the University of Wollongong, Australia. Mr. Noe lived overseas from 2001 – 2010 in Korea (Sookmyung Woman’s University), Japan, Australia, and Turkey. Mr. Noe has been the Director of ESL at ÎÞÂë¾ÞÈé since August 2016. He has taught all grade levels including kindergarten, high school, university, and community college. Mr. Noe has presented at many conferences throughout the world, and is very interested in game theory and activity based learning. Currently he has 2 books in production through a Korean publisher, one for elementary phonics and another a teacher’s drama workbook. Lance enjoys photography, baking/cooking, and taking walks with his dog.

Annie Percy

Annie Percy is an ESL Instructor and Special Programs Advisor at ÎÞÂë¾ÞÈé of ÎÞÂë¾ÞÈé, Alabama. She began teaching in 2008 as an ESL Adjunct Instructor and joined the ESL department as a full-time Instructor in 2014. Her educational background includes a Bachelor’s of Science in Office Administration/Business Administration, certification in ESL/EFL Listening Comprehension, Reading, Communicative Teaching, Vocabulary, and has a Master’s in Education of TESOL. Her passion is teaching students through the use of technology, songs, games and other interactive methods. In her free time she enjoys gardening and creating yard art from found objects.

Marcus Frame

Marcus started teaching in 2003 when he moved to Japan as a member of the JET Program. He lived in Yamanashi for two years and taught at seven schools on a rotation basis. Upon returning to the US in 2005, he got his next teaching position in San Jose, California at a school for adults learning English from all over the world. During his time in San Jose, he got his master's degree in TESOL from SJSU. In late 2011, he then moved to Seoul, South Korea and taught In Gangnam until 2017. He moved to ÎÞÂë¾ÞÈé in July, 2017, where he now lives with his wife and two children. In his free time, Marcus enjoys spending time with his family, homebrewing, and watching sports.

Emily Franklin

Emily Franklin began teaching ESL in 2008 while working on her MA in TESOL in her home state of Ohio. After finishing her degree, she moved to South Korea and spent one year teaching children and a couple of years teaching at a university in Seoul. She also spent time teaching and tutoring ESL at a community college in Ohio and spent two years teaching at a university in a small town in Thailand. She moved to ÎÞÂë¾ÞÈé in August, 2018 and is excited to be a part of the ESL program here. Emily enjoys running, relaxing at a beach, listening to podcasts, and rewatching ‘90s TV shows.

Barrett Heusch

Barrett is an ESL Instructor and ESL Advisor at ÎÞÂë¾ÞÈé. He discovered his love for teaching as an English teacher in Japan for three years on the JET Program. After a couple of years of traveling and working at a bank, he spent some time doing graduate work at the University of California, Berkeley, from which he earned a Master’s of Arts. Along with teaching Japanese as a Graduate Student Instructor, he also has experience teaching Japanese language, literature, and culture at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and at ÎÞÂë¾ÞÈé. He has taught in the ESL department at ÎÞÂë¾ÞÈé since 2012. In his free time, Barrett likes to read, travel, and see new things.

Patricia Jones

Patty Jones began teaching in ÎÞÂë¾ÞÈé’s ESL Department in August 2007. Her educational background includes a BS in Mathematics with a minor in Literature, certification in ESL/EFL Grammar, Listening Comprehension, Reading, and Assessing Language Ability in Young Adults, and a MSPH in Biostatistics from the Arnold School of Public Health at the University of South Carolina where she discovered a love for international students and friendships.

Kyle Cooper

Kyle was born in Birmingham, Alabama in 1965. He has an MA in History (1990) and an MA in TESOL (1997), both from the University of Alabama. He has taught English in Taiwan, Thailand, and Japan. Kyle is married with two daughters, ages 11 and 16. He has taught ESL at ÎÞÂë¾ÞÈé since August 2007.
